Denise Perron MSW, RSW
Denise Perron has a Masters Degree in Social Work with experience in the field since 1979. Her clinical background includes work with mental health, addictions, trauma and recovery, stress management, occupational or life transitions, critical incidence stress and work with couples, families and children. She works from a holistic perspective and uses many different therapeutic techniques suited to your individual needs. Denise is also experienced in program development and evaluation. She is a certified EMDR Practitioner and an authorized EMDR Consultant with EMDRIA. She has authored and published works from her research on addictions treatment, vicarious trauma and women’s career choices.
Consulting on clinical work can be a great way to increase confidence, inspiration, creativity, maximize clinical results and prevent vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue. It is highly encouraged that all health care professionals have a healthy support system and clinical consultation is one aspect of that support system that is very valuable.
As a trauma and mental health therapist since the early 1980’s Denise provides clinical consultation to agencies and individuals in the form of individual and group consultation and continuing education. Denise has experience working cross culturally and in a variety of different clinical settings. She is willing to travel and sessions are available both on-line and in person.
Specializing in EMDR Therapy and as a registered EMDR Consultant with EMDRIA she also provides both individual and group EMDR Consultation for those who want to improve their EMDR Therapy skills or gain EMDR Certification.
Denise’s ongoing professional development includes an interest in mindfulness based techniques for health and healing. Her holistic interests and her background training in Qigong have also lead her to a deep interest in the relationship of emotions and their influence on the physical body.
Emily Bushell MA, CCC, RCT-C
Emily Bushell is a Registered Counselling Therapist who is passionate about fostering resilience and wellness with her clients. Emily believes that we are all capable of achieving stability and growth in our lives.
Emily is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Emily has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for treating trauma. Emily believes that empowerment and connection are the cornerstones of healing and wellness and works with clients interested in exploring their lives and making difficult changes.
Before starting her own private practice, Emily worked as a Clinical Counsellor with Coast Mental Health and as a Concurrent Disorders Specialist with Fraser Health Authority. After working with clients within in the mental health system, Emily has moved into private practice to help her clients cultivate resilience and growth.
Emily Bushell holds a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) from Cape Breton University.
